WBJEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Domicile

West Bengal residents get state quota seats. NRI and All-India seats are open to candidates from across India without domicile requirement.

Age

Minimum 17 years by 31 December of the admission year. No upper age limit for most programmes.

Qualification

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects from a recognised board.

Minimum Marks

45% aggregate in PCM for General and OBC candidates. 40% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates as per WB reservation policy.

All-India Seats

Premier colleges like Jadavpur University reserve All-India seats (typically 10–15%). Candidates from any state can compete for these on merit.

Download Rank Card

After results, download your WBJEE 2026 rank card from wbjeeb.nic.in. The rank card contains your category rank, subject-wise scores and All-India rank (where applicable).

Online Registration for Counselling

Register on the WBJEEB counselling portal. Upload scanned documents — 10th and 12th marksheets, rank card, domicile certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), passport photo.

Choice Filling & Locking

Fill college-branch preferences online. You can add and rearrange choices multiple times before the lock date. Strategy tip: list government colleges first for maximum value.

Seat Allotment Rounds

WBJEEB typically runs 3 rounds of seat allotment. After each round: accept the seat and pay fee, upgrade (apply for a better preference while holding current), or reject and opt out.

Document Verification & Reporting

Report to the allotted college with original documents within the specified window. Pay tuition fees. Failure to report within the deadline forfeits the allotted seat.

What is the WBJEE exam pattern?

WBJEE is an offline OMR-based exam with two papers. Paper 1: Mathematics (50+15+10 = 75 questions, 100 marks). Paper 2: Physics & Chemistry (30+5+10 + 30+5+10 = 100 questions, 100 marks). Total 200 marks. Negative marking applies.

Who is eligible for WBJEE 2026?
